This is a New Forest : How ecoATM is Planting 50,000 Trees for Earth Month
Turning old phones into positive impact
Most of us have at least one old phone tucked away in a drawer. It’s easy to forget about those devices once we upgrade, but they still contain valuable materials that can be recovered and reused. When phones aren’t properly recycled, they can eventually contribute to the growing problem of e-waste.
Recycling with ecoATM is a simple way to make sure those devices are handled responsibly. Instead of sitting unused or ending up in the wrong place, phones collected through ecoATM are evaluated for reuse or recycled so their materials can be used again.
This Earth Month, those recycled phones are also helping support something even bigger.
Meet One Tree Planted
One Tree Planted is a global nonprofit dedicated to reforestation. Their mission is straightforward: make it easy for individuals and organizations to support tree planting projects around the world. By working with environmental partners and local communities, they help restore forests, rebuild habitats for wildlife, and strengthen ecosystems that support our planet.
ecoATM is proud to partner with One Tree Planted as part of our Earth Month commitment. Together, we’re helping fund the planting of 50,000 trees to support forest restoration in Manitoba, Canada.
This region has faced serious environmental challenges in recent years. Large wildfires and pest infestations have devastated the forests, eliminating not only healthy trees but also eliminating the see source for new growth. Replanting is an important step toward bringing these forests back to life.
The trees planted through this project will help rebuild the ecosystem, restore wildlife habitat, and support the long-term health of the region’s forests.
How you can help this Earth Month
This effort is about more than planting trees. It’s about showing what’s possible when people come together around a shared goal: protecting the planet.
When you recycle your used phone with ecoATM, you’re helping keep e-waste out of landfills and ensuring valuable materials stay in use. At the same time, you’re helping support initiatives like our partnership with One Tree Planted that actively restore the natural world.
It’s a simple action with a meaningful ripple effect.
So, this Earth Month, take a moment to check that drawer, desk, or junk bin where used devices tend to hide. Bring your used phone to an ecoATM kiosk and give it a second life.
Together, we can reduce e-waste, restore forests, and make a real difference for the planet-one recycled phone at a time.
